2008 Inter-Departmental Sports Challenge

The Inter-Departmental Sports Challenge is now well into it's third year but it's not too late to get involved. Tennis, 8Ball, Table Tennis and Soccer have all concluded whilst Volleyball and Squash are now underway. If you would like to play either of these two fun sports please call Rodney Glossop on ext. 4150 (we always need fill-ins). The sports to follow will be Basketball and Netball. Spin Classes @ Curtin - Ride to Monkey Mia Promotion

Did you know that Curtin Rec Centre (Bld 108) now host SPIN CLASSES!!

Curtin Rec Centre and STA Travel are giving away a FREE HOLIDAY to Monkey Mia. Spin participants are encouraged to record their distance travelled in each Spin Class. Every participant who cycles 853km (the distance to Monkey Mia) during the semester will go into the draw to win this fantastic prize.

SPIN CLASSES have taken the world of gyms by storm with a combination of motivating music and an indoor cycling program. Often described as the indoors "Tour de France" this class will provide the ultimate fat-burning and cardio-vascular workout incorporating a combination of standing and seated positions. Are you up to the Challenge?

New Physiotherapy Clinic

On April 21st 2008 a postgraduate musculoskeletal physiotherapy and sports injury clinic will commence. The clinic will be staffed by qualified physiotherapists who are completing postgraduate qualifications in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy. Treatment provided in this clinic will be supervised by experienced members of staff of the School of Physiotherapy who have extensive clinical experience, and are currently working in clinical practice.

The primary focus of this clinic will be the evaluation and management of spinal pain disorders, as well as sport and exercise-related injuries. We are also happy to provide evaluation and recommendations in relation to management options, for patients with either acute or chronic musculoskeletal pain disorders.

The Clinic is on Level 3 of Building 404. Appointments can be made on Ext. 1210.

 

Group Counselling Programs

FREE Weekly Meditation Sessions

The Curtin Buddhist Association offers free weekly meditation sessions for staff and students. Teachers are both ordained Sangha and lay people from various Buddhist traditions, offering you a wide variety of meditation techniques throughout the semester.
