Grand Final Result - Friday 22nd December 2006
Student Central defeated CBS-ITS 4 Nil
In a week full of controversy, both teams made the finals in extraordinary circumstances but it was Student Central who saved their best til last and put on a stunning display of skills for the huge crowd there to celebrate the end of the very first Inter-Departmental Sport Challenge. New recruit 'Ricky Wheeler' was the star of the show with 3 goals, although the crowd enjoyed the antics of Scott Martinson and went ballistic when he scored a goal in the closing stages of the game.
CBS-ITS made their way to the Grand Final via a Sudden Death Penalty Shootout against IMS but unfortunately could not reproduce that magic in the final game.
Student Central's win in the Soccer Competition continued their domination of the Sports Challenge. It was the third time they claimed the maximum 10 points which moved them 9 points clear on the Inter-Departmental Challenge Cup Leaders Board and secured the coverted Trophy.
In the Third Place Playoff, after narrowly missing out on the Grand Final IMS were handed the win when School of Pharmacy notified the organisers that they would be forfeiting the match.
Well Done to all teams on an interesting season.
